Where do the ideas for horror movies come from? Do you really need skeletons in the closet, or dark and twisted minds to come up with those crazy scenarios?
Well, it might help.... but for this movie it all started as a casual remark during the grading of Michaël Boucherie’s graduation short film Penrose Triangle (2016).
Asking about the reference point for grading tones of film colour, the title was born in response. When Edmund Curtis, cinematographer, next explained about this wonderful location he knew, which would allow for interesting camera set-ups and character choreography, Michaël threw some basic ideas at his brother David.
Armed with just a title, a location and the assignment for an ensemble-based horror film, David set about writing the first draft, and the game was afoot.
Besides wanting to work with the momentum of just having finished drama school, the basic idea was to apply a Drama Centre London approach to directing actors, creating credible characters in solidly established relationships, but within the framework of a genre film.
Casual suggestions can spark infectiuous ideas! That's pretty much what happened here. Then, you need to find the right people at the right time, bring them all together and set things in motion.
And, if you feel like giving the project a little push, don't hesitate and grab eternal fame and a perk from our Indiegogo campaign.
